“Your life is a result of the choices you make. If you don’t like your life, make better choices.”

Hey Thrivers!

Have you ever wondered why your favorite celebrities are so doing so well for themselves?

J-Lo is worth nearly 400 million dollars

Oprah is worth 2.8 billion dollars

Beyonce is worth nearly 400 million dollars

Jeff Bezos (owner of Amazon) is worth nearly 150 billion dollars

They all share a key trait – self-discipline. This didn’t hit me until much later in life when I really started opening my mind to these types of entrepreneurs. This is such an important skill to develop and it is like much like a muscle that you have to work on training. So why is this so important?

When put in a simple example, when you feel tempted to indulge in sweets but you know you’ve been eating right or working really hard, you need the self-discipline to say no. When you are too lazy to wake up early for that morning workout class but you know it’s the right thing to do, you need self-discipline. When you know you have tasks on your to-do list but you’re on your phone browsing Instagram, you need self-discipline. A great way to start developing this is with a solid morning routine!

Everyone that has achieved some level of success, it is due to the fact that they say no during those small moments. It is in those small moments that they take a step and those choices help move the needle. Instead of staying on your phone, you’re going to work on that book you’ve been wanting to write. Instead of sleeping in, you’re going to go and work your ass off in that spin class so you can enjoy that feeling of accomplishment after because that is what will make it all worth it.

Take this and apply it to those bigger goals you have: the book you’ve been wanting to write, the business you’ve been wanting to start, the website you’ve wanted to launch. You may need to cancel a night out with friends to finish writing a chapter or to research more about how to start your business. You may need to wake up earlier to get those things done. You have to want it more than anything and the self-discipline plays into that.

This is why it is so important to have self-discipline during those moments when you’re tempted to give in. Make better choices and you will get better results. You will get the life you want, and if you do this consistently then over the span of even just a year – you will be looking back at a completely different person.

I hope this helps puts some things in perspective for you. Try it out the next time you have a choice to make that can improve your quality of life. Your future self will thank you. Take Care!
